Production History:

My First Nutcracker was originally commissioned and premiered by New York City Children’s Theater in 2019.

Clara Marie is hosting a party, and the whole audience is invited!

In this contemporary adaptation of a beloved classic, little ones can enjoy an interactive introduction to The Nutcracker in under an hour. Through audience participation, adventure with Clara Marie and her friends through the snowy skies, to the Land of Sweets, and around the world–and even learn some dance along the way. My First Nutcracker’s compact cast uses dialogue and dance alike to tell the story, reinventing iconic ballet moments alongside the influence of modern dance and gender-neutral choreography.

The original production, performed at the height of the holiday season, enjoyed rave reviews and a nearly sold-out run.

“My 6 yo, 4 yo and 1 yo, all loved the production and were mesmerized from beginning to end. The show was the perfect amount of time to let them experience a quintessential NYC holiday experience with the freedom to wiggle around and even interact with the performers.” –Teresa Wang, FIDI Families

“In 50 minutes we traveled to far off lands and celebrated the magic of dance during this riveting interactive performance.” -Lullabies and Louboutins

“All the highlights of The Nutcracker, including Tchaikovsky’s breathtaking music, are there, and Clara narrates the whole thing so young audiences won’t lose their way.” Mommy Poppins
